Bio: Nestor graduated from Robert Vela High School in 2014. He attended Texas Tech University as a Gates Millennium Scholar, and he graduated with a B.S. in Human Development & Family Studies in 2018. Nestor was able to study abroad in Seville, Spain and participate in an internship under a physical therapist in a geriatric residence. During his last two years in Lubbock, Nestor worked as a rehab technician at University Medical Center to assist in the rehabilitative treatment of various populations in the hospital. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy at UT Health-San Antonio. After graduating, Nestor hopes to work in a burn unit to improve functional outcomes of patients recovering from traumatic experiences. Nestor loves to go hiking, reading, and spend time with his dog, Penny.
