Cristian Mercado
Bio: Cristian graduated from PSJA North High School in 2012, and he graduated from the University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) with a B.S. in Biology - Pre-Med in fall 2019. In 2013, Cristian served as one of the original CSLAP founding members. Since then, he’s maintained an active community leadership role by establishing United For College Success (UFCS), a college enrichment program at South Texas College.
Cristian also has a strong passion for research: At UTRGV, he took on a leadership role in a biomedical laboratory with the School of Medicine where he mentored medical, graduate, and undergraduate students. After completing an internship with the Doctor Hospital at Renaissance's Health Institute for Research and Development, Cristian has continued pursuing his life's dream of attending medical school.

Currently, Cristian is a medical school student at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine in El Paso, Texas.
