Anissa Nicole

Bio: After graduating from PSJA Early College High School in 2015, Anissa attended the University of Texas at San Antonio. While at UTSA, she was active within multiple political and activist organizations, such as Students United for Planned Parenthood (now known as FIRE), and Spectrum at UTSA (LGBTQ+ organization). While with Spectrum, Anissa co-founded and co-ran the Bisexual/Pansexual Caucus which aimed to provide an open, safe, and welcoming environment to those who identify as or are interested in learning about bisexuality and pansexuality. She also served on the planning committee with UTSA’s Women’s Studies Institute’s Take Back the Night rally & march and with Mujeres Marcharan for their annual International Women’s Day March. After graduating from UTSA in 2018 with a BA in Women’s Studies, Anissa served 10 months with AmeriCorps under their Public Allies program, where she worked hands-on with a local non-profit in San Antonio.

 

Anissa is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at Our Lady of the Lake University. In the future, she hopes to obtain her Master’s in Public Administration and, eventually, her JD.
